Kemlyte-333 is a specially formulated chemical to eliminate contaminants from the pretreatment metal surfaces and also applied to hexavalent chromium coating in order to avoid attachment of oxides, chlorides etc., present in the air.

Product Operating Procedure
Bath Make Up For every 100 ltr. of water 0.025 ltr. of kemplyte-333 to be added in the bath mix thoroughly and heat the bath at 60-70oC. Bath should be made preferably of D.M. water or with water, which has total dissolved solids less than 225 PPM.

Testing and Control Procedure
Free Acidity Pipette out 100 ml bath solution sample and add drops of Indicator Bromocresol Green. When the solution becomes light green note the consumption of N/10 sodium Hydroxide in the burette applications. This will give free acidity.
Total Acidity Pipette out 100 ml. of bath solution in a conical flask. Add 5 âââ‰â¬Å 6 drops of Phenolphthalein indicator. Titrate it against N/10 sodium hydroxide, when the colour of the solution in the flask becomes permanent violet 9 for 15 secs) consumption of N/10 sodium Hydroxide in the burette application. This will give it total acidity.
Chemical Replenishment To raise the pointage by 1 add 20 ml in 100 ltr of bath solution.
Safety Measures Kemlyte-333 is a chromic acid based chemical. Proper disposal of effluent is required after neutralizing chromium.
